"Paintball Tips"
I've jotted down some points many nube paintballers may find
usefull.
Always wear and use the appropriate gear. You know,
mask/goggles,gloves, jersey,shin/knee pads, sturdy but
loose fitting pants, decent boots (possibly a cleated
ankle hi sport shoe), the basics.
Know your marker, how it works, how to clean it, how to pressurize
it, how to store it safely when not in use.
Wear clothes that are suitable for the surroundings that you are
playing in. Nothing light colored or white either.
Always keep your mask and goggles ON until you are completely off the field. Your eyes and ears are useful; you'll want to keep them
safe.
Be respectful of the other players, there's enough a-holes in the
world already.
Listen to and show respect for the agreed upon leader even if they
come off as a dick, they paid their dues and were chosen.
Learn to be small, get invisible and keep your parts from becoming
targets.
Learn to become aware of everything around you, spread your
focus. Eventually you'll learn to widen or narrow your focus to
suit the particular situation. You'll probably get stuck in your
head a lot in the beginning. You might try a martial art and
learn to control your awareness and how you perceive the
environment around you.
Do some stretching before play begins, you may have less strain and
pain the next day.
Spend some time handling your unloaded marker every day.
Running, crawling, hiding, aiming from a standstill, aiming on
the run, aiming while kneeling, tucking and rolling. Do this
daily if possible 15-30 minutes until handling your marker is
like riding a bike and you don't have to think about it, you
just see and do.
Have a pro from the shop check your marker out on occasion and
make sure you have everything in order. Have them do any work
on the air system.
Always assume that your marker is loaded.
Always have your marker plugged or a sock on it when not in use.
Keep spare lenses for your goggles handy.
Don't customize or upgrade unless you actually know what you're doing.
Be aware of the safety of others as well as yourself.
That's it for now
Play Hard!! Play Safe!! Have Fun!!
